Today is the official one-year anniversary of the Disappearing in Plain Sight blog! I know this because WordPress kindly put a little gold anniversary cup on my Stats page to remind me. Yippee for me! Today, I am a one-year-old blogger.
I want to thank everyone who has stopped by over this past year. You have read, liked, commented, followed, and re-blogged. You have been with me on an incredible journey, and I’m so grateful for your company. You followed me through the editing and self-publishing of my first novel, and then right on into marketing and promotion. We’ve been together for the highs and lows.
You’ve been with me on more than just my self-publishing journey. You’ve also been around for everything else that life had to offer in between. You’ve hung out with me as I wrote bits of flash fiction, regaled you with stories of my family, and shared my garden. You’ve laughed at my wonderfully funny and cute granddaughters. You’ve followed me on a fabulous trip to California. We’ve been through a lot together.
I hope I’ve been able to make the journey worth your while. You have certainly made writing a blog a rewarding experience. I thank each and every one of you for taking the time from your busy schedules to spend time with me.
The party is going on here all month. (Remember the all important prizes and keep liking, commenting, following and doing those pingbacks!) Today it feels right to send out a special thank you to all of my blog readers. The blog wouldn’t be much without you.

Congratulations and a hope for many more to come…
Thanks – look forward to having you around graypoet!
It’s nice that i’ve found your blog on your first anniversary. Congratulations.
I’m glad you found the blog, too! Thanks for stopping by. I hope I can look forward to another visit soon.
Time flies when you’re having fun! Congratulations on your first year, Francis.
Fantastic! I wish I’d discovered you sooner! Many congrats…
All that matters is that we are on the roller-coaster of self-publishing and social media now! We’ve really got to stick together in this world. I enjoy the eclectic mix on your blog. Thanks.
congrats! the first blogiversary is a very crazy thing!!! I had mine in April. I hope you enjoy the day and the milestone for the success they are.
Thanks Victoria – anyone who has been doing the blogging for a bit knows the ups and downs, the loving it and wishing it could be done “right” without taking so long. But that old saying about getting out what you put in seems so true with social media. Thank you for being along for the ride.
Happy Anniversary from one who has just recently been inducted into your collection of fans. Look forward to whatever the future reveals. Good luck and thank you for your sage advice to this fledgling blogger.
How could I presume to give advice to an oldmainer? Just happy to be helpful. The whole blog world is so give and take and I love that kind of a model. I have really enjoyed your posts and hope we will continue to connect through this wonderful cyberspace world.
I hope so too.
Keep celebrating! Your blog is a pleasure to visit. I appreciate you being here!
Thank you to all the well wishers! I had no idea blogging would be as rewarding, stimulating, exhausting, and fun as it has turned out to be. The connections are what makes it all worthwhile.
Congratulations on this great milestone, Fran. What attracted me here in the first place is your way with words. I love the way you write, I look forward to your posts, and you know how I feel about your novel 😉 You also have a bit of the “Oprah Effect” on your readers (hope you don’t mind the comparison). That is, you make everything you write feel very personal; it all comes from the heart, and each post reminds me there’s a real person behind the words. In the often impersonal digital age, that’s a great thing.
Gwen – thank you. If I have even a grain of Oprah, you can bet I’m pretty darn thrilled! I’m very appreciative of your comment today because you have put into words what I have wanted to do with this blog. My commitment from the start was to be authentic. Thank you so much.
Congratulations! Your blog is a wonderful thing and I love it! 🙂
Much appreciation for your continued support, Angela.
Congratulations! I wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Though I don’t usually comment, your posts have encouraged me on my own writing journey. Please check out my June 14 post at http://www.ThisNewMountain.com/blog for the rules of accepting the award. Thank you!
I am so pleased to have encouraged another writer! That is what this whole social media, blog world is about as far as I am concerned. I am very appreciative of the award nomination. I have decided to be an award free blog. The awards are really about being appreciative of other bloggers and I will continue to do that whereever I can. Thanks so much for being along on this blog experience.
