In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer – Albert Camus
Hellebore – I am in love with this new addition to our garden – a rose like blossoms that comes to life in the dead of winter.
Our solar greenhouse-guest room-tool shed is coming along. The colours are especially pleasing to me.
A bright, blue sky day, frost on the ground … caught the builder taking a break.
Ice sculpture BC style. No, we don’t have broken pipes. We just need to leave the water running so we don’t end up with frozen pipes.
And then came the snow. Not exactly #snowpocolypse but very pretty.
The view from my desk makes it hard to keep working. I want to go out and play in the snow.
How gorgeous!
Many thanks 🙂
Hellebores are gorgeous. We have a patch of purple ones which really are a variety of rich colours. Although known as the Christmas rose, ours tend to bloom around the end of March in time for Easter, and provide a change form snowdrops, daffodils and crocus. Love your multi-purpose shed/room. Hope you get loads of use from it.
I’m looking forward to getting a few more Hellebores – I love the diffuse shades of colour in the ones I’ve seen. Oh that skyscraper greenhouse – can’t wait.
Lovely photos. I also love the colors of your solar greenhouse.
Thanks! We can’t wait to get planting.
Lovely photos, and you live in a beautiful place!
It is a lovely spot but sure looks different today – all snowed in. Work on the greenhouse will have to wait.
Spectacular Francis, love the ice sculptures. Better tell the builder not to lean back in that chair.
It’s unusual for us to have below freezing temperatures for days on end – that ice sure grew. For sure about that chair – nothing like those cliff drop-offs with no railings 🙂 He offered me the chair but I wouldn’t go near it – LOL.
What a beautiful spot you have there. I would love to build a greenhouse like yours. I found your post because I just posted about finding hellebores in my winter garden here in New Jersey.
Sending out a big hello to New Jersey! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Gotta love those hellebores.
It’s all so beautiful! The solar guest house is coming along nicely – you guys are the best!
Thanks, Angela. It is happening – no doubt it will be all ready for your next trip 🙂
